GSC GRAYS APPOINTED BY DEFRA AS PROVIDER TO THE FUTURE FARMING RESILIENCE FUND

We are delighted to announce that we have been appointed by Defra as a provider to the Future Farming Resilience Fund (FFRF) Scale Up Project.

The proposal we have set out is to provide individually customised farm business advice to 1650 farms in the North of England over a period from September 2022 to March 2025. This free service will be available to BPS recipients in the North East, North West, Yorkshire and the North Midlands.

Following our work with AHDB on the FFRF Interim Phase, we identified a need for specific and tailored business advice across a huge range of topics to help farmers to develop robust financially sound and environmentally sustainable business models for the future without dependency on support payments.

We also identified that approximately 60% of farming businesses are exposed to a significant shortfall of profit margin with the loss of the BPS payment and for many, this requires a radical review of future farm policy to reduce costs, increase income and develop new enterprises to offset the loss of support

Farm businesses will be able to receive free advice via a number of options including a one-to-one service (up to two and a half days of time), workshops, webinars and business group meetings providing follow on assistance. GSC Grays will provide targeted support for farm businesses in line with their specific needs with flexibility to address key issues for any particular farm business.

We look forward to working with farmers in this challenging but exciting period to develop businesses which are profitable and sustainable without support.
